Is this the same as browsing from your phone ?

No. Browsing the internet from your phone uses different technology, is often difficult to use and can be costly. txtit2me is a simple to use method of transferring information you find while browsing the internet on your computer to your mobile via SMS and costs only 55c per message

How much does it cost to set up ?

There is no charge to start using txtit2me in Standard Mode. A security deposit may be required if you wish to sponsor messages. For more information about the modes see How Does It Work

Is there a subscription cost ?

No. If you don't use the service you will not be charged anything. If you are sponsoring messages you will only be charged for the messages sent.

Will you be sending me a statement ?

Only if you are sponsoring messages in which case you will recieve a monthly invoice. If you are operating in Standard Mode you will receive no invoice.

Do I need to contact you before starting ?

Only if you want to sponsor messages. If not, you can set yourself up without contacting us. For more information see Getting Started

Do I need to install software on my server ?

For operating in Standard Mode, no software is required. If you wish to sponsor messages we need to be sure that only the messages you want sent get sent so we need to verify your credentials. You have two choices :
You can install a lightweight api on your server which supplies your identification details and is issued a token or
You can maintain your content as message sets on our server and just use a link from your site identifying the Message Set required. There are more details on this in the following items.

What is a Message Set ?

To make enabling your site easier we provide a maintenance capability within our Self Care facility for message sets. A Message Set is simply an identifier of your choosing and the message text that is to be sent when that set is requested. A set might be used for a particular product or can be used for situations such as special offers where you can change the content of the message without needing to update your site.

How do I know that the message I specify gets sent ?

In standard mode, the user may modify or append information to the message (after all they are paying for it).
If you are sponsoring the message, you obviously want to be sure they are only sending the information you want sent. This is achieved by either obtaining a token containing security information to send with your link or by specifying a Message Set in your link so that the message is populated by our server at send time. Please see the preceeding items for more information in this area.
